If you would like to obtain calculations which the Court may use to calculate
the present value of average earnings for a British Columbia male or female
with a specific education level, please fill out the form below.
These calculations would be based on the following information:
- Age of the client.
- Education level of the client. Our calculations are based on
education-specific 1990 Canada Census data.
- The discount rate used for the present value factors is that prescribed by
British Columbia Regulation 352/81 to the Law and Equity Act, RSBC for
wage-related losses (2.5% per annum).
- The
factors are reduced to allow for the possibility of death in any given
year using data for Canadian males or females provided by Statistics
Canada in "Life Tables, Canada and the Provinces, 1990 - 1992" (Catalogue
84-537).
